We currently offer e-learning resources with helpful information on how to feed toddlers and preschoolers and how to engage children in learning about food.

Each module has been developed with leaders in ELCC and nutrition education.

Module 1:
Supporting Young Eaters

Make mealtimes an enjoyable part of your day! Welcome to Supporting Young Eaters, an online module designed specifically for early learning and child care professionals. This module will guide you through the basics of common feeding concerns and teach you to apply good feeding practices.

  • Feel more confident in your ability to support children at meals and snacks;
  • Build trust in your and children’s capabilities;
  • Understand eating experiences from the child’s point of view; and
  • Support eating times as opportunities for connection.

Module 2:
Learning Together with Food

Make learning about food a positive and impactful experience! Welcome to Learning Together with Food, an online module created for early learning and child care professionals. This module explores the many roles food plays in our lives – connecting us to others and to the world around us.

  • Explore food literacy activities through four pathways;
  • Feel confident to responsively engage children with food; and
  • Identify how to strengthen food literacy practices between children, families, communities, and child care programs.

Responsive Menu Planning

Coming soon: make menus that work for you and your child care community! Responsive Menu Planning is an upcoming online module designed exclusively for early learning and child care professionals. Developed with nutrition and early learning professionals, this module provides you with tested tools to create nourishing menus.
